HOMEBOUND SERVICES

If you or someone you know is unable to visit the library, a librarian will bring the library to you, including large print or regular print books, movies, etc. You may request specific titles or have the librarian suggest some. Homebound patrons may also access HPL's Downloadable Collection (audiobooks, ebooks and videos) from the convenience of a home computer. SERVICES FOR THE VISUALLY IMPAIRED

 

Andrew Heiskell Braille and Talking Book Library – New York Public Library provides braille and special format audio books and magazines for people who are physically unable to read standard print. Applications are at the library Reference Desks. Click link to learn more.

 

 Merlin LCD Magnifier - This is a full-color, auto-focus video magnifier, enabling "individuals with low vision to read, write, view photos, and more, in color, black-and-white, or advanced high-contrast positive or negative viewing modes." Audiobooks - Audiobooks are available at the library as cassette books, CDbooks, downloadable books, and Playaways.

 

Large Print - Our collection of large print books includes fiction, non-fiction and bestsellers.
